Police find 5 pounds of heroin in Portland freezer

Police say they found more than five pounds of heroin in a Portland man's freezer. They say the street value of the drug is about $400,000.

KATU TV reports that officers were checking out drug activity complaints in southeast Portland. Police say they knocked on a door and the person who answered gave them permission to search the home for drugs.

They found more than 4 ½ pounds of packaged heroin in the freezer, as well as more than a pound of individually wrapped packets of the drug.

Officers arrested a 28-year-old man in the Jan. 13 seizure.
