4 arrests in Occupy Portland demonstration
An Occupy Portland demonstration billed as an event to support the Egyptian revolution turned into an often contentious march. A police spokesman said he was aware of four arrests Wednesday night.
The Oregonian reported at least two protesters were knocked to the ground. Police Lt. Robert King said the arrests involved disorderly conduct or interfering with police. He said one officer was scratched on the face and spit on.
Police on bicycles, horses and on foot accompanied the demonstrators, who ranged in number from 50 to more than 100.
The protesters also roamed through a mall, yelling, "Capitalism is cannibalism."
