How to Obtain a Copy of Divorce Decree From Oregon
Certified copies of divorce certificates are available from Oregon's Center for Health Statistics, which is the department responsible for certified copies of vital records for Oregon divorces. The office has kept divorce certificates since 1925. The fees for one copy of the certificate as of 2010 range from $20 for in-person or by-mail requests to $35.20 for Internet, fax or telephone requests. Processing can take up to five weeks, so make sure you plan well in advance if you need a copy of your certificate.
Instructions
Via Mail
1 Collect the required record information, including: full name of person listed on the record; spouse or domestic partner's name; date of divorce or filing of certificate of domestic partnership; county that issued marriage license or filed domestic partnership; or county granting divorce; your name and relationship to the person on the record; or your reason for needing the record.
2 Include the information listed in Step 1 along with a return address and daytime phone number in a letter to the Center for Health Statistics.
3 Mail the request to Oregon Vital Records, P.O. Box 14050, Portland, OR 97293-0050. The divorce decree will arrive in approximately five weeks.
